This Franciscan monastery, located in the heart of Sintra, was founded in 1560 and will make you feel at one with nature. Wander through tiny cells and long corridors with centuries-old doors. You'll see cork everywhere (an inexpensive and excellent insulation material) and discover what life was like for a monk. In addition, you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Sintra hills.

The ticket office closes between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. Automatic ticket vending machines are available.
