From October 1 to January 17, 2027:
American Images
Dana Lixenberg (Amsterdam, 1964) is one of the leading figures in contemporary documentary photography. Her work, developed primarily in the United States, is characterized by an intimate and stereotype-free perspective that addresses issues such as inequality, identity, and resilience. American Images brings together some of her most significant projects, from Imperial Courts, initiated after the 1992 Los Angeles riots, to her portraits in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Shishmaref, Alaska. In collaboration with Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP), the exhibition covers more than three decades of work focused on the representation of marginalized communities, iconic figures of popular culture and social landscapes loaded with memory. rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
KBr Flama’26 presents the sixth edition of the annual event organized by the KBr Foundation Mapfre, showcasing the new generation of photographers beginning their professional careers after completing their training in Barcelona. The exhibition brings together the work of Sara Bravo, Elena Bulet i Llopis, Meghan Mathews, and Luca Gaetano Pira, four young artists who draw on their personal experiences to address universal themes. Her projects combine documentary photography and stagecraft to explore the visibility and struggles of the LGBTIQA+ community, as well as the role of family heritage in building bonds and memory.
